Setting Up Resident Permit Parking

Resident permit parking is the primary parking type for property tenants. It typically requires a permit code and can be configured for recurring monthly billing.

How it works

  1. A resident enters the property's Location ID at istall.app.
  2. They select the Resident Parking Permit option.
  3. They enter their permit code (provided by the property manager) along with their vehicle information.
  4. The registration is activated. If recurring billing is enabled, their payment method is charged monthly.

Permit codes

Permit codes control access to registration. Each code belongs to a code group, and code groups determine which parking type and stall area a resident can access. Properties with multiple parking types (e.g., surface lot vs. underground) use separate code groups routed through the Traffic Cop system.

Permit allocation

The number of permits available per unit is controlled by the three-layer allocation system: lot default, per-unit override, and additional permits. See the Managing Buildings and Units article for details.
